FlightAware Flight Tracker App Reviews

I used version 4.X almost daily. It was perfect! Now version 5 does not find flights ( eg the BA one that I am sitting in right now), has a super cumbersome interface, and is just frankly a whole big piece of s@@t. Will have to search for a new app which was as good as the old version of flightaware. How tragic!

Such a useful and promising idea - and how badly realised. Data input is complicated, erasing alerts seemingly impossible although often demanded. Guys: simpler would be a lot better!

It is a pretty cool app, I just wish I could actually create alerts. Always says error no matter what I try. Would love to make alerts, other than that it is really neat!

There was names displayed nicely in the original version, but now only codes are there Eg suncor, north carriboo etc.

Version before was far better. The best feature was the ability to track originating flights.

I wish I could install the previous version. Do not upgrade. This used to be a deluxe easy to use app. Nothing is intuitive in this version. In fact I really cant find a feature I like. Email to this developer go unanswered. Three thumbs down and only 1 star only because you cant give it zero stars.

Used to be a 5 star app. Now completely ruined. Navigation is difficult and counter intuitive. Nearby flights do not move, and there appears to be no way to refresh status. Flights listed as being within 46 kms are then shown as being halfway across the Atlantic. Developer - please bring back previous version.

This new version is much more difficult to maneuver. The original was infinitely easier, faster and more user friendly. If the intent was to make it unusable you have succeeded.

Why do developers like to take a perfectly good working App and update it to make it confusing and non-intuitive. The original App worked flawlessly. This one just doesnt work. Do not do the update.

You had it working really well in the last version. This new version is horrible to work with. Difficult to find the flights I want to follow. I really dont enjoy this version at all. Figure it out or I look for something else!

Used to work... Current version is no good. Cant even set alerts ... Dont download it... Its a waste of time now

Previous version rocked. Totally awesome, easy to use, showed all flights in the area. This version is total garbage. Tried navigating it for a couple weeks, to see if it got any easier to use. Nope. Total crap. Ill be deleting it next.

Use to be a great app, but I cant figure out how to use it now with this new Version. Using a different app for my flight information.

A good app has been ruined by the recent updates. Go back, please.

Previous version was fantastic and easy to use, this version is horrible. What happened, who made that decision?

My boyfriend and I are both in aviation so we use flight aware all the time to keep track of each other. App was good. Not perfect but I didnt have any major complaints. It was pretty user friendly. Now after this update it is ANYTHING but user friendly. What prompted me to finally write this review after a few weeks is that I looked up my boyfriends flight today (took about ten minutes to find) and it says all on the same page so much conflicting info. Bottom line is I get that not all the info on flight aware is always correct given uncontrolled airspace, flight plan changes, ect.. But the old version was great. Please go back. This is just making me sad.

It crashes way too often especially now with iOS 9.2.1.

The previous version was very easy to use. The update is horrible. Look at your reviews. All the reviewers cant be wrong. The users have spoken. Go back to the previous version. I enjoyed using that version. It was easy. This new update makes no sense whatsoever. Admit that this update was a big mistake and change it back to operate like the previous version. I now rely on another app for flight following whereas this app used to be my main choice. If it is not fixed or changed Im deleting this app.
